Best blower I had so far

I previously owned an electric blower and then I had the Poulan Pro PPB300E that worked fine for the first couple of times I used it. Then for the next two years it was very hard to start the engine would not run properly and had to keep it running mingling with the throttle and choke and when it ran it did not seem to blow as it should have. Now it finally gave its ghost the engine locked up. Since it was not worth fixing it I went out and bought the Husqvarna 125B

I had a few surprises:

- At the first touch I noticed how much lighter is than the Poulan. After mounting the air pipe and nozzle although is so light it feels "solid".

- The starting rope can be pulled very easily. In fact so easy that at the first pull I put my back into it and pulled so hard that I reached the end of the rope probably and the handle just flew out of my hand. I know... you're not supposed to do that but it didn't seem to have hurt it.

- It started at the third pull which I think is great for a brand new motor.

- Thereafter I stopped and restarted as I was cleaning the yard several times and every time it started at the first pull.

- The air speed and the blowing pattern seem to be very good because the dirt blows away really fast significantly faster than the other blowers I used.

- I love the throttle being mounted on the handle as it gives you nice control over the air speed especially when you are close to the finish and try to pile up the dirt. Also I love that it has a "cruise control" lever which you can move to get the desired speed and then you don't have to hold the throttle which is helpful on larger areas.



I see nothing wrong or that I would liked changed yet so the only question remaining is how long it will last.



One note: I really do not see what is the difference between the 125B and 125Bx. The 125BVx is the same but comes with a vacuum kit.

Light and Powerful

I just bought the 223L to replace a 5 year old lightly used Echo SRM-210i which froze-up (piston is hung in the cylinder). Wished I had bought the Husqvarna when I bought the Echo.



Pros:

* Easy to start and stay running. (The Echo would start easy but it would tend to stall (and sometimes quit until it warmed up.)

* Very lightweight.

* Easy to maneuver - it just glides across the ground.

* Powerful - this machine cuts through 1/4" brush with no problems using stock string.



Cons: Only has a two year warranty compared to Echo's 5 years. However the place I bought the Husq (Home Improvement store starting with L) had a 3 extended warranty for $39. The total price of the Husqvarna and the extended warranty was about in line with Echo's compatible model (which has a smaller engine).

Lawn mower wheel

I spent some time online researching replacement front drive wheels for my Husqvarna lawn mower. There are a confusing number of serial numbers and brand names out there for Sears Craftsman Husqvarna AYP etc. but I eventually determined they are all cross compatible as long as they match the following specs based on the original wheels of my mower:



Wheel diameter: 8"

Wheel width: 2"

Gear teeth: 53

Bore: 1/2" Dia.

Hub Offset: 1-5/8" (1.60")



These things being the same the tread pattern and color of the plastic hub are what seem to vary from one model to another. Price range is all over the place too. A "Husqvarna" wheel cost as much as $32 from one online retailer. Sears Craftsman around $23 each from another. I thought the $15 price for the one I found on Amazon to be an awesome deal.



I opened up the box and was very pleased to find that the wheels are actually different than the one pictured. The ones I received have black plastic instead of the white in the picture. Best of all the ones I got have metal bearing rings on both sides of the axle hole. This feature should really extend the life of the wheels preventing them from reaming out at the plastic axle hole and getting wobbly - that's what caused my old wheels to give out after a few years.



Each wheel comes with a new plastic dust cover that fits over the inside face of the wheel. I checked the packaging and it's stamped with "193144" so this is indeed the wheel I ordered. I'm glad I got an improved model with the metal bearings. Other wheels I saw cost a lot more and have an all plastic hub design.More detail ...
